Meet your dentist
Dr. Keyachtta C. Hawkins, DDS
Dr. Hawkins is a native of the small town of Henderson, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor's degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, making her a proud double Tar Heel.
She went on to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Grady Health System in Atlanta, splitting her time between caring for patients living with HIV/AIDS and completing complex restorative cases.
Service has always been at the heart of her work. She was named a Schweitzer Fellow for creating positive change in her community and has traveled to The Gambia and Malawi to provide free dental care. Her awards include the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation Community Service Scholarship and the ADA Foundation E. Bud Tarrson Dental Award.
In the chair, Dr. Hawkins believes in teaching, not lecturing. She wants you to understand your mouth, feel good about your choices, and leave feeling cared for. Her faith shapes how she serves: with patience, honesty and love.
Outside the office you'll find her traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her husband, their two children and their fur baby. She serves on the UNC Adams School of Dentistry Admissions Committee and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
